Hakalletrappa mountain hike

Hakalletrappa mountain hike

Hakalletrappa in Vanylven is a spectacular mountain hike and a wonderful excursion from Kråen Gard. A short bike ride or drive brings you to Hakallestranda, where around 2,000 stone steps lead up towards the summit of Kragsethornet (456 m above sea level).

The staircase was built by Nepalese Sherpas and winds elegantly up the mountainside. As you climb, the landscape gradually opens towards the open ocean, and from the top you are rewarded with magnificent panoramic views over the islands along the Søre Sunnmøre coast, with Stadlandet visible on the horizon on clear days.

This is a perfect half-day experience – a combination of fresh coastal air, spectacular scenery and authentic Western Norwegian landscapes, before returning to Kråen Gard for relaxation and the good flavours of our farm kitchen.
